Sassa has recently indicated that the payments for the R350 SRD Grants from April when the new cycle began will be made in mid-June. Beneficiaries are this time should be expecting payments from Sassa as it is almost mid-month.

One critical thing that one has to do to get their grants without having to travel or go to town is by adding banking details on the SRD system. This will allow you to get your R350 grant directly to your bank account. Remember, this must be your own account as Sassa cannot pay you using someone else’s bank account.

Below are the step-by-step on how to change banking details for Sassa R350 grants. This can work also for people who have been receiving their benefits through South African Post Office or cash send mobile services.

Sassa has widely encourages the R350 SRD beneficiaries to add their banking details on the system so that they get their payments directly into their bank accounts.

Step-by-step Adding bank Details for R350 Grants

Step 1: Go to srd.sassa.gov.za

Step 2: Scroll down to where you will find a yellow bar written “How do I change my banking details”.

Step 3: Under that bar, enter your ID number used during application for the grant and hit “Submit”  

Step 4: Check your phone for SMS from Sassa . An SMS containing Sassa banking details link, unique to you, will be sent to the mobile phone number with which you registered during application.

Step 5: Click on the link in the SMS and follow the instructions carefully.

Step 6: Enter ID Number and hit “Submit” again. Now you should be able to see your current payment option.  Do nothing if you don’t want to change those details.

Step 7: To change details, scroll down and click “Capture Own Bank Account”. Select your bank name, branch number, account type and enter your account number on the last block provided and hit “submit”.

You should be done.  Sassa will pay your grant on the new banking details provided. Please also note that the new banking details will only be used for future payments, after verification.
